Darleks are an enemy of Doctor Who, they are thimble shaped with rows and rows of raised bubbles leading up to a domed head with what looks like a sink plunger for an eye

I croched a blue baby mattanee coat once for my sister Jackie when she was expecting which had bobbles on it and it looked just like a darlek when it was finished. lucky for her she had a girl and so I still have it somewhere.
I prefer the second version too AND would like it better WITHOUTthe reveresed knit line above the hearts pattern....although I realise that it's to show the start of the boarder. As your sister says a couple of extra bobbles might not go amiss either. Very pretty colour.

The next one will be two tone as per Sarah's comment, I'll try the additional bobbles and missing row after that.
