My take on Jacknits part 3

Well after the comments I went back to the drawing board and tried Sarah's version.

Then I added some sparkle, items were just placed  as I'm not so sure.

Your comments will be very much appreciated.

  1. It's very nice, I love red and navy together, they go so well. Again this one reminds me of a jumper and skirt, not a bad thing either :)
I'm not 100% sure on the little decorations, maybe there are too many? I'm not the best judge of appliques as I take so long to decide when adding them myself. I was thinking though that this outfit would look very nice with a knitted belt with a buckle at the front, maybe in stripes of both colours or in another colour like white. Just a thought, because I really think it looks nice as it is :)

    1. Yes I too thought the additions were a bit much, so glad I did not sew them on. A belt may look good but without the garter stich below... well now I have an extra bobble one to knit and a version with a belt!!

  2. I love it, but lose the sparkles, they detract from the look. Could maybe do the bobbles in the navy part and just a double row of stitches to start off the 'top' to make it look more two piece but love it. Well done you :)xx

  3. Well, I like it as it is ...plain and simple :)
Will you be making a toddler version by any chance?

  4. Well done!
I'm surprised about me thinking like Dee again.

Nice you asked us, interesting to read the different opinions.

    1. This is turning out to be quite a lot of fun. Its lucky I'm a quick knitter and tend to work faster when I want to see the end result.

  5. It's so hard to believe that it's the same pattern being used! Just LOVE it... (but without the embellishments! It stands out on it's own.... pure and simple... just like a two piece, jumper and skirt.)
    Really clever!

  6. phew ...it turned out good , I really like it ...I only suggested it as when I was little I had 2 knitted dresses, one the top was blue and the pleated skirt bit was red, white and blue , the other was yellow on the top and the attatched skirt was yellow, brown and white (it was the 70s) ...I think this looks lovely :) xxxx
